Author Kevin Tuerff reviews Shared Imagination!
By a happy “accident” while in Toronto, I found and read Kevin Tuerff’s moving book, Channel of Peace: Stranded in Gander on 9/11, which chronicles the astounding generosity of the folks of Gander, Newfoundland to people on the 30-some planes diverted there on 9/11. (PS Kevin’s story is among those dramatized in the hit Broadway musical Come From Away.)
I was also astonished to find Kevin describing near the end of his book about using imagination in prayer and receiving images. So I sent him a copy of Shared Imagination, A Channel to God and with Each Other, explaining that my whole book is about the imaginative meditation/prayer process. He was “blown away by it”! Here’s his review, which is also on my book’s page at Amazon:
“At the advice of a friend, I entered an 8-day Ignatian (Jesuit) spiritual
retreat where I learned about contemplative prayer which author Mary Ann
Archer describes in her book. Like her, I was blown away by powerful
experiences where I sensed messages from God in my prayer. I wish I knew
about this practice decades ago. Mary Ann’s book shares amazing true
stories which helped me strengthen my own belief in this powerful way to
listen to God. For those who aren’t religious, her chapter on Jungian
psychology is quite relative and interesting. Buy this book and give it a
try on your own, or with a group.”
